I'd
recommend:
Ann
Voskamp's blog A Holy
Experience. Well-written, spiritually nutritious, honest, always with
inspiration, or food for thought. Her mind
and style is more “feminine” than mine, and I sometimes restlessly skim the
lead-in to “the meat,” but she’s the real thing.
Her book One Thousand Gifts is possibly the most
life-changing book I’ve ever read.
If I had
to recommend one blog full of practical, inspirational tips to tweak your life,
and be more efficient and productive and practical and use time better and be
fitter and you know…
I’d
recommend Lifehacker.
My
husband, Roy reads it regularly, perhaps more regularly than he reads mine, but
in the interests of marital harmony, I’m not going to interrogate him on this.
If I had
to recommend one amazing and amusing blog written by a non-Christian, I guess I
would choose Andrew Sullivan’s The Daily Dish. It reflects
Sullivan’s mind--lively, many-sided, bits of poetry, lots of news, lots of
astute analysis, interesting visuals, vlogs, unpredictable. He covers a
dizzying variety of stuff every day, and is considered the
world’s best blogger. He’s gay, and
probably an atheist, but that wouldn’t faze Jesus, or prevent him enjoying
Andrew’s fertile, energetic mind—and it doesn’t faze me. I am rather fond of
this blog.
If you
had to recommend one, or three…which would they be?
I've just finished 'One Thousand Gifts' and completely agree - it's a beautiful book, full of wisdom and encouragement and gorgeously written. Off to check out the blog..!
ReplyDeleteYes, she writes so well. I skim the warm-ups, and linger over the meat:-)
ReplyDeleteMy current favorites are I'm an organizing junkie at www.orgjunkie.com and moneysavingmom. I find both to be really useful and in the case of orgjunkie, just beautifully designed. Very useful and applicable content for me.
